This policy covers the first Android release of Bumpfolk, in which Partner and cross-device interactions are unavailable. Mateusz Swiatek, Salomonstr. 7, 02826 Görlitz, Germany, is the operator responsible for the processing described here. Contact hello@bumpfolk.com. The website and its optional newsletter have a separate notice.
Records on your phone
At your direction, Bumpfolk stores your display name, due date, baby count and names, sibling names, check-ins (feelings, symptoms, libido and notes), reflections, appointments, ultrasound measurements, moments and selected photo copies, and hospital-bag items. These records are stored in the app’s local storage, not uploaded to the operator. There is no account or cloud backup of these records in this release. Optional fields can be left empty.
Updates and technical requests
The installed app can contact Expo’s EAS Update service to check for and download app updates. Requests expose an IP address, an EAS installation identifier, platform, runtime/app version, update channel and update-related technical information. They do not include the pregnancy records listed above. Core tracking works offline. We use update delivery for functionality, maintenance and security, based on our legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.
Providers and international processing
Expo (650 Industries, Inc.) supplies update delivery; its infrastructure and service providers may process technical data outside the EEA, including in the United States. Visiting this policy page involves the website’s hosting/security providers, described in the website notice. Applicable provider terms and transfer safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where applicable, govern international processing. We do not sell personal data or use advertising, behavioural analytics or automatic crash-reporting services in this app release.
Notifications and permissions
Morning check-ins and appointment reminders are scheduled on the phone only after you enable them and grant notification permission. You can disable them in Bumpfolk or your phone settings. They do not require registering for remote push in this release. Selecting a photo opens the system photo picker; Bumpfolk stores a private copy of the photo you choose. The app does not request location, microphone or camera access. Calendar export opens a system event form rather than reading your calendar. Android scheduling and older photo-picker behaviour may require additional system permissions.
Exports you choose
If you save or share a pregnancy PDF, its included records leave the app for the destination you choose. Calendar export sends the chosen appointment’s title, date/time, location and description to your selected calendar app. That app may sync with Google, Apple or another provider according to your settings. Emailing support sends us your address, message and anything you include. Do not send medical records or sensitive pregnancy details unless necessary; we cannot provide medical advice.
Storage, retention and deletion
Local records remain until you edit/delete them, use “Delete all data” in You, or remove the app and its data. This also attempts to remove app-owned photo copies. Android app backup is disabled. Device security and any copies made outside the app depend on your device and chosen providers. Deletion does not remove original photos, exported files, calendar events, emails or copies held by other apps. Expo’s technical records follow its service retention practices; we do not set or promise a separate fixed retention period for those records.
Contact correspondence
For questions about personal data, write to hello@bumpfolk.com. We use Cloudflare and Google Gmail to handle correspondence. We use messages to respond, based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Article 6(1)(b) where necessary for a service request. Correspondence is kept while handling and following up the enquiry, then deleted when no longer needed, unless a legal obligation or legal claim requires retention. These providers may process data outside the EEA; see their privacy information and the website notice.
Your choices and rights
You can inspect, edit and delete local records in the app, export the pregnancy report, and revoke system permissions. We cannot retrieve local-only records from your phone. For information processed by us, contact hello@bumpfolk.com to exercise applicable rights of access, correction, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may withdraw any applicable consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. You can complain to your local supervisory authority; the operator’s regional authority is the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner. No automated decision with legal or similarly significant effects is made about you.
Family use and medical limitations
Bumpfolk is intended for adults managing a pregnancy. Sibling content is designed for use together with an adult; children do not have separate accounts. Bumpfolk provides general education and personal tracking. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent medical conditions. Consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment; do not use the app to decide whether to delay care.
Changes
This policy is dated October 9, 2026. We will update it before enabling Partner, remote push, billing or other processing not described for this release. Changes to native privacy settings require an updated installed app; this notice does not change the behaviour of an older APK.
